Mobile ‘beta-market’

Recently I’ve dropped my old smart phone, manufactured in 2009, into the water. It survived, but the accident made me think over buying a newer mobile device, all the more, my smart phone is very simple, of the first generation with minimal PC-like features. One decision leads to the necessity of another one – what device to choose? And here is the point – there are lots of the announced attractive novelties that are newer, than previous ones. And when we know, that there is a newer gadget, it’s hard to convince ourselves to acquire an older variant. I haven’t yet changed my mobile for a newer one, but the market trend has interested me, while many acquaintances of mine are really fond of the ‘newer’.
Really, it’s good, when technologies are not stagnant and are moving forward very fast. But everything in the world has at least two sides – good and not very good. What ‘not very good’ can by in this mobile race for the new? And the newer turns to have a ‘beta’, not better, side. From one point, beta will help the manufacturer to make the gadget useful, convenient, ergonomic, but from the other point – is the customer open to accept an unready product?
I’ve encountered at an expert opinion, which I mostly agree with – are we ready to reconcile with mobile ‘beta-market’? Read the article
